Training

FYI. . . We want everyone to be aware of some trainings happening statewide. The June 9th QPR training is in Region 4 (at Southwestern State Campus).  Please note the registration links for these trainings are live and that spaces will fill quickly. Please also note there are suicide prevention and train-the-trainer courses available which have a pre-requisite to be approved (see the registration site link for details). Training confirmation are on a first come, first approved basis and free of charge. We are once again excited that we have the opportunity to expand mental health awareness trainings in Georgia. Please share within your networks. Thank you.

Through this project, Georgia DBHDD will be offering a total of 26 evidence-based suicide prevention and mental health trainings for gatekeepers and professional helpers across every region of Georgia in 2020.

In 2020, we will continue to offer the following classes:

  • AMSR (Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk)
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
  • Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)

In addition, we have added the following NEW classes to our course offerings:
