Children with Disabling Conditions

Miracle League

This organization is working on creating a flat playing surface at a park to
assist children and adults using wheelchairs and other mobility assistance
to play sports.

There are openings for volunteer groups to work one-on-one
with the players. Such groups as cheerleaders, sorority members and athletic
teams have been paired with the young people to help them play sports.

Some of the players are from residential facilities and this is the first time
that they have been able to participate in typical sports activities. There
are fundraising opportunities as they work towards the goal of a totally
accessible playing field.
